December 26: Inspire Peace

John called me on Friday and suggested that we make our extra bedroom into a healing room. John's mom was coming for Christmas. She is currently being treated for cancer. Friday evening we hung photographs and arranged flowers so that the room would be inviting and calming.

The next morning, the sun was shining and we went into to check on the room.

For Christmas, we gave John's mom a couple of hats to keep her head warm. We hope they will also inspire laughter.

White is the color of purity. Simple white roses and tulips were my favorite bouquet.

December 3: Inspire Peace

It rained today. And then the sun came out. Rain gives life. Water gives life.

Today's rain: Stars and reflections.

Within one drop there is a whole other world.

This morning, while it rained,  I read "Love Thyself: The Message from Water III" by Masaru Emoto. He has experimented with water and vibrations and how those positive or negative vibrations affect water. He freezes the water and photographs the crystals.
This is from water that was exposed to the words Love and Gratitude.
In this book, Emoto says that to heal ourselves and the earth, we must first love ourselves.

Three simple phrases that can lead to peace. Peace within. Peace throughout the world.

"I Love you. I thank you. I respect you."

Summer Storm

We heard the thunder in the distance. Above and to the west the sky was still clear.
Thunder rolled again.
I went out with my camera. To the south the sky was dark. A swath of storm clouds crossed the bay moving north and east.
You could hear the thunder roll through the cloud line from east to west and then back again. Then the could filled with lightening and the thunder rolled.
As we listened we could hear the rain pouring down on the bay.
We sat dry watching and listening, waiting to see if we would get wet.

The first drops began to fall big and bold; harbingers of what was on its way.
I ran to the house and just as I reached the door, the storm was over us in earnest. A heavy rain, then hail, then a blinding downpour.

It took as long for the storm to arrive as it did for it to come to an end.
All that was left in moments was this memory.

Fluke -- A Whale Tale

This female whale was seen in the waters off of Hervey Bay, Australia. She is a mother and her calf is diving next to her on the left. This bay is a resting spot for humpback whales while they travel South to their feeding grounds. The research that the Pacific Whale Foundation does in Australia, has shown that the whale will often come into the bay and "hang out" for three to five days. During this time the mothers spend a lot of time training and feeding their calves. They are often seen breeching, fin slapping, and spy hopping over and over again.
