Day 17: Happiness is:

Getting up after a late night and going out with your camera and friends again.
Sarah, Tracy and Toni

On a clear day you can see Byron

This is known as the Rusty Old Cadillac West of Rochelle. A tourist stop on the Lincoln Highway Trail. Also along the path to the Nachusa Grasslands Autumn on the Prairie Celebration our planned destination.

Nachusa Grasslands Vista

We discovered this little restaurant in downtown Franklin Grove. Tasty food, inexpensive and just off the beaten path.

Inside the Lincoln Way Cafe
Happiness is discovering new places, being outside on a beautiful day, and taking notice of the beauty and interesting things that surround you.

I also discovered Natusha Autumn Fest on Saturday. It was great fun! The food, hiking, and entertainment were great. The wagon ride to see the bison was fabulous. I loved seeing the prairies. The grasses are pink this autumn and show up just beautiful. I had hiked Franklin Creek before and I wanted to see it again. The Grist Mill had not been built yet when I was there. It was a beautiful day in remembrance of special friends lost. Beautiful.
